Royce is the founder of McKean Estates and TIKI wine. He is a down to earth guy that loves family, friends, fine wine, food, sport and playing in the beautiful N.Z outdoors.

Sue McKean - Director of Finance
Sue is a country girl hailing from a long line of prominent N.Z farmers and botanists – she loves family, friends, skiing, fine wine and food, gardening and beautiful N.Z scenery.
Royce courted Sue for a couple of years and his persistence (and some thin mountain air) eventually won her over on a skiing trip to the Craigieburns. They were married two years later and have two beautiful daughters, Aberdeen and Tess. Their home in Sumner, Christchurch provides a great seaside village environment to raise their family, surf, play tennis and satisfy their love of skiing.
Royce and Sue feel privileged to have such a fantastic team at TIKI who are all passionate about what they do, are great fun to work with and understand the camaraderie and close bonds of working in a family business. At TIKI we are all one family.

Evan Ward – Winemaker
Evan joins the TIKI Team as Head Winemaker for the 2010 vintage. Having been the winemaker at Morton Estate for a number of years and winning several top awards and trophy’s, we are excited about how he has crafted our 2010 wines. Evan has a love of running and enjoys getting out in the Hawke’s Bay sunshine.
Dave Jordan – Viticulture Consultant
DJ has been guiding TIKI from the start when the land was still sheep farms and nobody thought we could grow grapes. Teaching us all in the ways of winegrowing he has been fantastic help and we probably couldn't have done it without him.
Pete Kerdemelidis – National Vineyards Manager
Pete the Greek has been a viticulturist for the last 12 years and has worked in 4 of the major wine growing regions in NZ. He joined TIKI in 2008 and has been instrumental in bringing the vineyards to the high standard they are today. Pete is so well organised he can whip up a 3 course meal at 2am in the morning on a George Foreman grill while co-ordinating the national harvest.Thinks a man cave is a must for any self respecting man and is known to spend an unhealthy amount of time polishing his classic car a 1964 Chevrolet Nova. Hell of a good guy who loves to make a deal and takes great pride in his team, his vineyards and the outstanding fruit he produces(His grapes have been in a trophy winning wine at the IWC in London in, so watch this space for TIKI ........).
