| Waipara, North Canterbury |

Waiata was TIKI Wines first vineyard and had its site in Waipara chosen in the same meticulous manner by the McKean family. The vineyard is gently sloping with soils ranging from stony shingle river deposits, free draining soils to heavy clays. This variation provides for a variety of combinations in growing techniques which allow our viticulturists and winemakers to work together in the vineyard to produce the range of ultra premium fruit and unique and elegant flavors that this vineyard is known for. Much of the fruit from Waiata Vineyard is sold and is competed for by many wineries including Villa Maria, Nobillo, Kim Crawford, and Waipara Downs.
