This alpine setting in the upper reaches of the famous Wairau Valley is the exciting new sub-region of Marlborough - home to Tiki. While the sub-region is not yet recognised as a separate GI (geographical indicator) wine growing region, there is clearly something special about Wairau Alpine Valley. This region is home to some of the highest altitude vineyards in Marlborough New Zealand. It is blessed with fresh alpine air, snow-capped mountains and ancient pure soils. The snow-fed waters of Wairau River provide these vineyards with the best of what the rest can only dream about. Pure New Zealand literally laps at Tiki’s doorstep. |
