VINEYARD REGION: 100% Waipara Valley, North Canterbury
VINTAGE CONDITIONS: 2025 was a favourable vintage for North Canterbury that started off with an early bud burst and flowering. The weather was above average in terms of sunshine right through to Christmas suggesting a very early vintage was looming. Fruit set was largely in-line with target yields that set the vineyard up nicely for harvest. From the beginning of January temperatures cooled and the region had prolonged cloud cover and some rain which brought the season back into balance and the harvest start dates were delayed slightly. Despite some heavy rain events during March the harvest started in mid-March and finishing around the 20th April. The early summer followed by the cooler summer enabled the fruit to fully ripen and be picked with optimum flavour.
WINEMAKING: This wine is a cumulation of utilising 4 different grape varieties to produce a Rosé that both looks and tastes appealing. Each variety was picked and fermented seperately all with aromatic yeast. Post fermenation the wines were kept on fine lees to build intrigue. The wine was blend was made to capture classic Rosé fruit flavours, retain a bright refreshing acidity and lovely pale colour.
