We are delighted to have the expertise and experience of well respected New Zealand winemaker, Alastair Maling MW, leading our winemaking crew.

Working closely with our viticultural teams, he is advancing our winemaking practices and ensuring that our brand remains synonymous with quality and innovation, not only in New Zealand, but around the globe.

With a career spanning over 30 years, Alastair has not only earned the prestigious Master of Wine title, he has also had significant winemaking experience in Europe, South America, and South Africa.

His success in the industry includes an impressive tenure at Villa Maria where he served as Group Winemaker and General Manager, then at Foley Wines as Group Winemaker, helping both companies grow their brand reputations on the world stage.

Alastair's accolades are numerous. Acknowledged by Decanter Magazine in 2003 as one of five young New Zealanders to "watch out for," he has also clinched the Winemaker of the Year award at the Royal Easter Wine Show four times and was named White Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge in London in 2007.
